EXPLORATIONSI recently embarked on an exploration to discover newer applications of yoga therapy and touch on the wisdom of the ancient yogis. To that end, I completed the yoga therapy certification from Ananda Seva Mission in Santa Rosa, CA receiving a 300-hour certification. I have also received a 500-hour yoga teacher designation from Yoga Alliance. I am now offering private yoga therapy and integrative health consultations. These include yogic assessments and recommendations for lifestyle changes, nutrition, supplementation, excercise, massage, breath work/pranyama, dosha-specific interventions, as well as the more familiar asanas (postures) for specific health/body/mind issues. I will continue to incorporate mindfulness meditation and mind-body awareness as part of this process. The initial consultation takes about two hours and follow-up appointments are generally about one hour. The cost for the initial consultation and follow-up appointment(s) is $50/hour.
I utilize two offices in Grangeville: one in the Ray Holes Mall at 221 West Main Street and also my home office at 73 Spirit Horse Lane. Although my new focus is on private integrative health coaching and yoga therapy, I will continue to see my regular massage clients and will offer massage as part of integrative health consultations and follow-up appointments. if youíre interested in learning more about this exciting new direction, please contact me.
Incorporating integrative health in clinical settings is a personal and professional priority for me. In 2012, completed a Healing Growth grant as a consultant with St. Maryís and Clearwater Valley Hospitals. As a result of that work, itís likely that Iíll ask you about your interest in integrative health and its possible inclusion in your health care. †
Pain protocols and cardiac rehabilitation also are of great interest as are womenís health issues. Watch for specific classes in the months to come. In the meantime, my current class offerings and workshops are listed on the SCHEDULES page.
